Our History In October 2005, Superior Essex and Nexans completed the formation of Essex Nexans Europe S.A.S. Essex Nexans, a corporate joint venture, combined Superior Essex's U.K. winding wire business with Nexans' European winding wire and enamel businesses. In June 2007, Superior Essex completed the acquisition from Nexans of the remaining 40 percent equity interest in Essex Nexans. With the completion of the transaction, Superior Essex now owns 100% of the equity of Essex Nexans, the largest European magnet wire manufacturer. Today, our brand in Europe is known simply as Essex.
Our Locations Headquartered in France, Essex benefits from a large presence across Europe both from its manufacturing facilities and from its sales network.
Our winding wire manufacturing locations include two plants in Germany, two in Italy, one plant in Portugal and one plant in the UK. As well, we operate one enamel plant in France.
